Getting to grips with tax, VAT and the new Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) will become a whole lot easier for businesses in Aberdeenshire, thanks to a free Business Advice Open Day being run by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) at the Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre on Tuesday 8 April 2008.
A wealth of free guidance and practical help will be on offer to new and established businesses from over 30 stands including HMRC, trade organisations and business support bodies.
For the first time, the event will include a construction industry question and answer session. A specially formed panel of organisations from the construction industry will each deliver a brief overview of their business and explain how they fit into, and benefit the local construction sector. This will be followed by a question and answer session where attendees can raise any construction and property development related questions, or highlight issues to the panel of experts.
A full seminar programme will run throughout the day giving delegates the chance to hear about recent developments and specific topics, including HMRC delivered taxation subjects, as well as items from Business Gateway, Health and Safety, UK Intellectual Property Office Mentoring, Relocation Advisory Services, and many others.
The HMRC Business Advice Open Day runs from 9.00am to 3:30pm on Tuesday 8 April. Entry to the event is free of charge and bookings are not necessary to attend the main exhibition. Places at seminars are, however, limited and can quickly become oversubscribed. To avoid missing out on a place, bookings should be made in advance at www.businessadviceday.co.uk.
