IKM Testing has secured funding from ETZ's Challenge Fund to purchase specialist grouting equipment, signalling a strategic move into the offshore wind market and supporting the company's expansion into renewables-focused services.
The company's well services team will lead the rollout, enabling IKM to provide grouting for offshore wind turbine foundations. The process is essential to ensure structural stability, transfer loads from turbines to the seabed and improve long-term performance.
David Ramage, Commercial Manager at IKM said: "We are extremely grateful to ETZ Ltd for this funding which supports our ambitions to expand into the renewable energy sector. Adding this equipment to our fleet allows us to offer a new service offering, which has unlocked significant growth opportunities within the thriving offshore wind sector."
Maggie McGinlay, Chief Executive at ETZ Ltd, commented: "We are pleased to have supported IKM Testing's ongoing diversification into the offshore wind sector through our Challenge Fund initiative. This investment builds on the company's world-class expertise, opening up new markets and strengthening Scotland's low-carbon supply chain. It also keeps high-value skills and jobs in the region, further reinforcing Aberdeen and North East Scotland's position as Europe's Capital of Energy Excellence."
