Hydrogen Scotland has opened nominations for the election of new Directors at its 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM), offering members an opportunity to help shape the future direction of Scotland’s growing hydrogen sector.
The organisation is seeking candidates who are committed to advancing the hydrogen economy and representing the interests of members. The Board is also keen to ensure governance remains inclusive and welcomes applications that add a diversity of perspectives and experience.
At the 2025 AGM, members adopted updated Articles of Association introducing a rolling rotation, with two new Directors to be elected at each AGM. In November 2025, Michael Seaman of Statera Energy and Nick Stapley of RWE were duly elected as new Directors.
Nominations must be received by midnight on Wednesday 30 September 2026. Successful candidates will be elected at the AGM on Thursday 5 November 2026.
Prospective nominees should email a PDF submission to [email protected] with the subject line “Hydrogen Scotland Director Nomination”. Submissions must include a CV and a signed covering letter confirming willingness to be appointed, together with supporting information and evidence of relevant skills and expertise, plus details for at least one referee.
Questions about the nomination process can also be sent to [email protected] using the same subject line.
Eligibility and nomination rules (Articles 86–90) include: candidates must be an Individual Member, an Unincorporated Organisational Member, or an individual nominated by an Incorporated Organisational Member; employees of Hydrogen Scotland are ineligible; members may elect eligible candidates at the AGM where vacancies exist; notices of nomination must be signed and, where applicable, countersigned by an authorised officer of the nominating member, and lodged at least 35 days before the AGM. The company will ensure a majority of Elected Directors and take reasonable steps to secure balanced representation across impairment, gender, age, race, religion, ethnicity and sexual orientation on the board.
