Almost 100 people took part in a consultation on what equipment should be included. Their feedback has informed a final design intended to be suitable and accessible for everyone.

The upgraded play park will feature a wide range of equipment, including wet pour mushrooms, a dune buggy, a scooter seesaw, a crazy scrambler, a wheelchair carousel, a triple tower unit with a chute, and swings.

Convener of the Glenrothes Area Committee, Councillor John Beare said: "We're delighted to see these exciting plans becoming a reality.

"Fife Council has been working closely with Pitteuchar, Stenton and Finglassie Community Council to improve the play area a d I'm very grateful for their work and engagement.

"The previous play equipment had reached the end of its life,?so we're now set to see a fantastic £100,000 new play park."

Alastair McCabe, Chair of Pitteuchar, Stenton and Finglassie Community Council, said: "Members of Pitteuchar, Stenton and Finglassie Community Council (PSFCC) have been raising funds towards the upgrading of the Inveraray playpark. Our thanks go to Fife Environmental Trust, Fife Council and all those who supported our fundraising efforts over the past few years. It is good to see that this work is now at a stage where the old playpark can be replaced, and the local children will shortly be able to have a safe local environment where they can play."

The total cost of the project is £100,000, funded by Fife Council with a £25,000 contribution from Pitteuchar, Stenton and Finglassie Community Council.
