BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out embankment stabilisation on the A83 between Loch Restil and Butterbridge from Monday 13 July.
Crews will operate between 7am and 7pm, with completion targeted for Monday 14 September.
To protect roadworkers and the travelling public, a single-lane closure controlled by two-way traffic lights will run 24/7, alongside a temporary 30mph speed limit, to keep traffic moving.
The schedule is weather dependent and may be adjusted once on-site investigations reveal the full condition of the embankment.
Relevant stakeholders have been consulted in advance to outline the traffic management measures and help minimise disruption.
Michael Baxter, BEAR Scotland's North West Improvements Scheme Manager, said: "These embankment stabilisation works are key to continuing the ongoing safe operation of the A83."
"The works have been planned to minimise disruption to road users as far as possible, with the use of 24/7 two-way traffic lights and a temporary speed limit of 30mph, however some delays are to be expected, especially during peak times."
"We thank road users in advance for their patience and understanding while our teams carry out these essential works and would request that road users fully comply with temporary speed limits to ensure our workers can go home safely to their families each day."
