C&P Recruitment Expands Through Acquisition as Turnover Rises 21%

C&P Recruitment, the Scottish specialist recruiter for the construction, engineering, and property sectors, has reported a 21% increase in turnover alongside the strategic acquisition of industry specialist Clarke Bridges Resourcing.

The business, which reported a turnover of £10 million in its most recent financial year, also recorded a 12.5% rise in temporary placements and a 5% increase in permanent recruitment. This growth reflects sustained demand across housing, infrastructure, and renewable energy sectors, particularly in the Highlands where civil engineering activity is accelerating.

Founded 22 years ago by Managing Director Donald Wynn, the firm operates offices in Edinburgh and Inverness. The acquisition of Clarke Bridges Resourcing marks a significant step in C&P’s growth strategy, adding senior expertise and a deep-rooted network of industry relationships across the UK.

The company has also recently bolstered its senior leadership team. Nicola Monro has joined as Permanent Recruitment Director, and Josh O'Dwyer has returned as Head of Construction Recruitment following two years in Australia. They work alongside Donald Wynn and Operations Director Kathleen Wynn to support a team of 15 employees.

Donald Wynn, Managing Director of C&P Recruitment, said: "This has been a strong year for us, particularly given the wider challenges across construction and the economy. Demand for skilled people hasn't gone away and if anything, it's becoming more critical as projects accelerate. The challenge now isn't finding work, it's finding the right people to deliver it.

"The acquisition of Clarke Bridges adds real depth of experience and credibility in the sectors we operate in. This is about strengthening what we offer clients and candidates and creating more opportunities across the built environment."

The construction sector continues to face significant skills shortages, a challenge expected to intensify as major infrastructure and energy projects scale over the next decade. C&P Recruitment is actively building its candidate network in anticipation of a sustained five-to-ten-year pipeline of work.

John Clarke, Director of Clarke Bridges, added: "Having focused predominantly on permanent recruitment for tier-one contracting in the civil engineering and construction sector for almost 20 years, the merger with C&P Recruitment significantly expands our offering to both clients and candidates alike."

The combined entity will continue to recruit across all industry levels, from site managers and trades to senior leadership roles, supporting contractors and infrastructure providers across mainland Scotland, the North of England, and the Scottish Isles.
