The UK's premier low-carbon energy and renewables event is preparing to celebrate its 25th milestone year at the SEC Glasgow from 13-14 May 2026. The landmark conference will bring together policymakers and industry experts to address the critical opportunities and obstacles involved in achieving the UK's clean energy targets.
This year's event features a refreshed programme shaped by a newly appointed Strategic Summit committee, consisting of 29 leading experts from organisations such as Siemens Energy, EDF, and SSEN-Transmission. The agenda will cover essential sector themes including transmission reform, finance, the circular economy, and workforce skills.
High-profile speakers scheduled for the event include Michael Shanks MP, Minister for Energy, who will deliver a keynote address. On the second day, Chris Stark CBE, Head of the UK's Mission for Clean Power, is also set to provide a keynote speech.
Anam Khan, All-Energy Event Manager at RX Global, said: "This year marks the first time we've established a Strategic Summit Committee and I'm excited to see the group add a new layer of insight and leadership to the conference programme. By convening senior decision-makers from across the industry, it will ensure the agenda is not only reflective of current priorities but also responsive to what's coming next, ultimately creating a more dynamic, informed and valuable experience for attendees."
The show floor will feature over 300 exhibitors, including Hitachi Energy and Schneider Electric, and will introduce several new zones:
• The Scale-up Zone: A collaboration with Energy Systems Catapult featuring 15 SMEs.
• The Mission Clean Power Lounge: Delivered in partnership with DESNZ and NESO.
• The Innovators Hub: A space for start-ups and technology pioneers hosted with the Net Zero Technology Centre.
• Solar and Storage Theatre: A dedicated area reflecting the rapid growth of the solar sector.
In addition to technical sessions, the event remains committed to workforce development. A dedicated Skills Zone and an expanded STEM & Education Programme will host students from across the Glasgow City region to inspire the next generation of energy professionals. The event also sees the return of the Women in New Energy Zone, providing a dedicated space for mentoring and diversity within the sector.
To celebrate a quarter-century of the event, headline sponsor Shepherd and Wedderburn will support a Giant Networking Evening. This session is designed to allow attendees to reflect on the event's 25-year history of fostering innovation and progress within the clean energy community.
