Clark Contracts Shortlisted For 'Large Business Of The Year' At British Business Awards

Clark Contracts has been named on the shortlist for the 2026 British Business Awards' 'Large Business of the Year', placing it among the top eight large companies in the UK.

Founded in 1978, the main contractor operates across Construction, Fit Out, Refurbishment, Housing and Maintenance, and employs more than 280 people from offices in both the east and west of Scotland.

The Scottish firm will line up against 149 UK businesses at this year's ceremony in Edinburgh, which will include special guest George Clooney. Those shortlisted will also feature in the inaugural British Business Leaders List, highlighting organisations setting the benchmark for modern enterprise. Over 400 entries were received, with finalists independently evaluated across five criteria: business performance, innovation, workforce and culture, customer impact, and contribution to society and the wider economy.

Winners are due to be revealed on 30 April 2026 at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. The event will again raise money for homelessness charity Social Bite, aiming to help generate more than £1 million, supported by a fundraising dinner the night before at Gleneagles Hotel.

Gordon Cunningham, Managing Director, Clark Contracts said: "We are delighted to be shortlisted once again for Large Business of the Year. This recognition highlights our consistent development, strong performance within the construction industry, and the dedication of our team. We're proud to be named alongside other major businesses in this year's shortlist."
