Sidara has completed its acquisition of Wood, with the engineering and consulting group to keep its brand and operate independently within Sidara's five‑pillar structure.
The enlarged collaborative now spans more than 55,000 professionals and generates over $8.5bn in annual revenue worldwide.
Sidara described the deal as a pivotal step in advancing its long-term strategy to broaden and elevate its global energy offering. It highlighted Wood's skilled workforce, technical strengths and established client relationships, and said Wood will benefit from Sidara's scale and long-term owner‑operator approach while continuing to run as a standalone business.
By combining Wood's complementary capabilities — including expertise in digital and decarbonisation technologies — with Sidara's reach, the group said it is positioned at the forefront of the global energy market. Together, they aim to support immediate energy security needs and speed the shift to clean energy and decarbonised infrastructure.
Sidara will continue to operate through five pillars:
- Dar — Multidisciplinary
- Wood — Energy and Materials
- Perkins&Will — Design and Architecture
- TYLin — Infrastructure
- Currie & Brown — Project Management and Consultancy
This model enables the collaborative to serve clients across sectors and geographies — from technology and energy companies to hospitals, airports and governments — and to deliver value across the full lifecycle of strategic projects, from planning and design through project management, handover and facilities management.
With Wood joining, the group's revenue is distributed globally, with around 40% from North America and roughly 20% from each of Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia Pacific.
Talal Shair, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sidara, commented: "Acquiring Wood is without a doubt the most ambitious venture in the history of Sidara, driving forward a long-term critical strategy of expanding and elevating our energy offering. Together with Wood, our people will be empowered to have far greater impact in two of the defining sectors of our time: energy and materials.
"This partnership comes at a historic moment. Accelerating the energy transition and establishing a sustainable supply of the raw materials that will shape our future has never been more critical than it is today. By providing a solid foundation and long-term strategic backing for Wood, Sidara will be uniquely positioned to deliver innovative, industry-leading solutions for clients in these critical sectors and beyond."
