Fife Council is moving forward with the construction of 56 new council houses in Boreland, Kirkcaldy, following approval from local councillors.

Members of the Fife Council Cabinet Committee have authorised officers to finalise legally binding agreements with Allan Water Homes for the significant project located at Boreland Road.

The development is a component of the Council's Affordable Housing Programme, which focuses on providing high-quality, energy-efficient properties throughout the region. The site will offer a diverse range of housing options, including wheelchair-accessible units, amenity housing, and general needs homes to serve the Kirkcaldy community.

Funding for the project will be sourced from the Housing Revenue Account via tenants, Scottish Government Affordable Housing Subsidy, and Council Tax collected from second homes. Work on the site is scheduled to commence in April 2026, with a projected completion date of February 2028.
