Clark Contracts Lands Four Nominations At 2026 Scottish Property Awards

Clark Contracts has secured four nominations at the prestigious 2026 Scottish Property Awards. The ceremony is scheduled for Thursday 26 February 2026 at the Doubletree by Hilton Glasgow Central.

Its retrofit of Scotland's National Retrofit Centre for BE-ST is shortlisted for 'Net Zero Development of the Year'. Forming the first phase of a wider retrofit and refurbishment programme at BE-ST's Innovation Campus, the scheme aims to decarbonise the estate to meet the International EnerPHit standard and Scotland's Net Zero Public Sector Building targets. The project was delivered with John Gilbert Architects, Brown + Wallace, Luths Services and Narro Associates.

The company's design-and-build delivery of The Pepper Mill in Edinburgh for Danehurst Developments is a finalist for 'Student Accommodation of the Year'. Located on Dunedin Street, the purpose-built residence provides 155 student beds alongside a reception, lounge, games room, communal kitchen, gym, library and group study spaces. The team comprised ISA Architecture & Design, F3 Building Surveyors, Rybka and Fairhurst.

Two further schemes are shortlisted for the 'Renovation Project of the Year' Award. The first is The Briggait Clydeside Market Halls, delivered for Wasps Trust, where Clark Contracts completed the refurbishment and conservation of the Category A listed building, transforming it into a culture and creative industries hub and reconnecting it with the River Clyde. Partners included Collective Architecture, Doig & Smith, Brown + Wallace and Narro Associates.

The contractor's refurbishment of the Category B listed Edinburgh Filmhouse is also recognised in this category. Works upgraded the three existing cinema screens with new seating, enhanced accessibility and improved sightlines, and created a fourth screen. The project team featured Atkins Realis, Unick Consulting, Wilden Building Services, G&W Contracting and DCF Design.

Gordon Cunningham, Managing Director, said: "We're proud to see four of our projects recognised at the Scottish Property Awards. This recognition demonstrates our ability to deliver a diverse range of high-quality projects from pioneering net zero innovation to conserving historic landmarks, across the industry."
