OnPath Energy has appointed Jules Rankin-Perez as its new head of construction, strengthening the leadership of the UK renewable energy developer as it expands its project delivery.
Rankin-Perez brings almost 17 years' experience in renewables and has worked on numerous high-profile projects, including two of OnPath Energy's Scottish onshore wind farms.
Based at OnPath's new Bellshill office, she will oversee construction performance across the company's UK pipeline, working with wider teams to manage safety and financial responsibilities.
Born in South Africa to British parents, Rankin-Perez moved to the UK in 1999 for a gap year, later studying product design engineering at Edinburgh Napier University.
After winning a scholarship from Johnson & Johnson during her degree, she joined the company on graduation and spent six years there before changing career direction.
She went on to complete a master's in energy engineering at Heriot Watt University, then joined wind turbine manufacturer Senvion, where she rose to construction team leader over more than a decade.
Rankin-Perez later moved to Green Cat Renewables, consulting across onshore wind, hydro, hydrogen, gas peaker and combined heat & power projects, before focusing on green hydrogen development with sector specialist Protium.
"OnPath Energy has a strong portfolio of future projects and my aim is to use my experience to help bring them through construction and handed over to operations as smoothly and efficiently as possible." said Jules Rankin-Perez, head of construction at OnPath Energy.
Jules Rankin-Perez says: "Having previously worked with members of the team, I knew that OnPath's culture, ethos and ways of working fit well with my own.
"It's refreshing to be part of a business that has such a strong, clear focus on its future direction, and with a lot of new projects about to come forward, it's an exciting time to be joining."
OnPath Energy currently operates 12 onshore wind farms across Scotland and England, with construction under way at three additional green energy sites and several new projects expected to advance over the next 12 months.
Martin Kellerman, construction director at OnPath Energy, adds: "Jules' personal and professional qualities were well known to us, with her breadth of green energy industry experience being exactly what we required for this role, and we're very pleased to be able to bring her into our growing team."
OnPath Energy was acquired in 2023 by Brookfield Asset Management, described as the world's largest dedicated transition investor and a leading global alternative asset manager, and is working towards becoming the UK's leading land-based renewable energy developer.
