The Port of Leith's Outer Berth redevelopment has been named the best Upgrade & Renewal project at the British Construction & Infrastructure Awards, following its recent success at the CECA Scotland Awards.
GRAHAM acted as the main contractor, working alongside Forth Ports Limited and HBPW Consulting Engineers to deliver Scotland's largest renewable energy hub. The project includes a heavy-lift berth with a 100 t/m² capacity, capable of accommodating the world's largest offshore renewables support vessels.
Judges highlighted the project's focus on efficiency and sustainability, noting the use of digital modelling, design optimisation, carbon reduction measures, and the minimisation of impacts through material transport by water. The collaboration between contractor and client ensured effective risk management and the successful renewal of an existing port asset.
