BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, is scheduled to begin essential surfacing improvements at two locations on the A87 near Loch Cluanie starting on Tuesday, 7 October.
The works are designed to upgrade the existing road surface, significantly improving both the quality and safety for motorists.
The programme of works will take place overnight, running from 8pm to 5am, and is expected to be completed by the morning of Tuesday, 14 October. There will be no work carried out on Friday or Saturday nights.
To ensure the safety of the workforce and the travelling public, the affected section of the A87 will be closed in both directions during working hours. To minimise disruption, amnesties will be provided at specific times—9pm, 10pm, 11pm, 12am, 2am, and 4am—to allow waiting vehicles to be safely escorted through the site.
Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained throughout the duration of the works. Consultation with all relevant stakeholders has been completed in advance to notify them of the traffic management arrangements and minimise any inconvenience.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, thanked motorists for their cooperation: "These essential resurfacing works will upgrade the existing road surface, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users. We thank motorists for their patience ahead of these road improvements."
