Fife Council has started early planning work to help shape a new future for Kirkcaldy's town centre and waterfront.

The work is part of a wider regeneration programme that aims to boost the local economy, improve public spaces, and strengthen community facilities for generations to come.

While the council awaits funding from the UK Government, specialist consultants Collective Architecture and Montagu Evans have been appointed to lead the development of proposals for the area. The consultants are currently meeting with local groups, organisations, and businesses to explore what a practical, sustainable, and community-led future for Kirkcaldy could look like.

The planning work will guide future development and investment in the area. Although the wider programme is still in its early stages, the council has stated there will be many opportunities for residents, partners, and businesses to get involved over the next 18 months and beyond. The council confirmed that while funding is still to be secured, the vision for a more vibrant town is already taking shape.
