Moray Council has launched a 12-week public consultation on its Draft Biodiversity Strategy 2026-2036. The strategy outlines an "ambitious vision" to protect, restore, and enhance biodiversity across the region.

The draft strategy is built around three key aims: nature recovery on council land, nature recovery through policy and partnerships, and connecting people with nature. It also introduces the Moray Nature Network, a long-term plan to connect nature-rich areas.

Council Leader Cllr Kathleen Robertson said that nature is vital to the area's "wellbeing, economy, and resilience to climate change" and that the council wants to hear from "everyone" to help shape the strategy.

The consultation is open until Friday, 28 November 2025, and is available on Moray Engage, the council’s new digital engagement platform.
