ScottishPower has been recognised for its "Outstanding Commitment to the Environment" at the annual Metro Employer's Excellence Awards in Manchester.

The award celebrates the impact of the UK's leading businesses and employers.

The energy company's sustainability team, led by Dr Sam Gardner, Head of Climate Change & Sustainability, collected the award. The team works to support ScottishPower's drive to become a "strong, successful, and sustainable company that responsibly delivers a cleaner and greener future."

Dr Gardner said the award was a "brilliant" recognition of the firm's focus on sustainability, which is at the heart of its purpose. He highlighted its strategy, Action2030, which aims to drive ambitious goals across the company, from tackling climate change to engaging with local communities.

ScottishPower was also a finalist for Large Employer of the Year, and its LGBTQ+ employee network, In-Fuse, was shortlisted in the Best Employee Support Network category.
