The Time Capsule Water Park is set to reopen ahead of schedule this Saturday, 19 July, following a series of significant upgrades aimed at improving the visitor experience.
Closed earlier this year to allow for essential improvement works, the water park has undergone a major refresh that includes the installation of new pumps and blowers to enhance the waterfalls and river rapids features.
Councillor Geraldine Woods, Convener of Community Services, visited the site ahead of reopening and said: "We're really pleased to be welcoming people back to the Time Capsule. These improvements make visiting the water park a more enjoyable experience for everyone.
"Now that the first phase is nearly done, we are delighted to announce that we are once again taking bookings."
Visitors planning a trip to the water park are advised to book in advance using the ActiveNL app or by visiting activenl.co.uk.
As part of the first phase of improvements, the centre's electrical systems have been upgraded with over a mile of new wiring installed. New colour-changing underwater LED lights have also been added, creating a more vibrant and immersive atmosphere.
Additional enhancements include new soft rubber flooring at Splashdown Island and Coral Cove, repairs to the river rapid slides and tiling, and refreshed shower areas to provide a more welcoming environment for guests.
While most areas of the water park will be open, some attractions are still undergoing work. The popular tipping bucket and the yellow flume remain closed for now, but the purple flume will be operational when the park reopens.
