BEAR Scotland has announced a programme of resurfacing works for the A82 in Glencoe, south of The Meeting of Three Waters, on behalf of Transport Scotland.
The improvements will involve resurfacing the road to make it more durable and resilient against inclement weather. The works are required to address deteriorating road surface conditions as well as improve road markings.
The works are programmed for construction from Monday 9 September for 12 nights, with the road reopening on the morning of Wednesday 25 September when all works are complete. Works will be carried out between the hours of 7pm and 5am each night and there will be no works on Friday or Sarturday nights.
Due to restricted road widths through this section of the A82, the carriageway will be closed to ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public. The A82 will therefore be closed in both directions each night between 7pm and 5am with amnesties at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, 12pm, 2am and 4am to allow waiting vehicles to be escorted through the site safely. A diversion is also available via the A85 and A828.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland's North West Representative, said: "These essential resurfacing works will upgrade the existing road surface, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users as well as upgrading road markings. We thank road users for their patience ahead of these road improvements."
