Fife Council has announced an investment of £50,000 to improve the pedestrian zone on Kirkcaldy’s High Street.
Under the works, the council will install automatic rising bollards at the west end of the zone to improve road safety in the area due to the stretch being persistently used as a thoroughfare by unauthorised vehicles.
The High Street will remain open during the works, which will begin on Monday 9 October and take around two weeks to complete. Access for Blue Badge holders and loading vehicles will remain during their permitted times.
