Clark Contracts Appointed To SPA Framework

Construction News Image
The Scottish Procurement Alliance (SPA) has appointed Clark Contracts to their Public Building and Infrastructure Framework (PB3).

The framework, which will run for the next four years, allows local authorities, social landlords/housing associations and other public sector bodies across Scotland to source contractors for works relating to the construction and refurbishment of educational, healthcare, emergency service and community buildings.

The framework can also be used for residential properties within mixed-use developments, student accommodation, conversion of commercial building for residential use, and can include associated infrastructure works.

The Paisley-based contractor has been appointed to deliver refurbishment and new build projects within all five regions across Scotland.

Gordon Cunningham, Managing Director at Clark Contracts, said: "We are delighted to have secured a place on this major framework. We have relationships with a number of public sector bodies across the country and we look forward to further developing our relationships with these customers whilst also engaging with SPA and new public sector customers."

SPA director, Clive Feeney, said: "Our Public Buildings and Infrastructure framework has been built with the Scottish public sector's needs at the forefront. It offers a broader range of works, more flexibility for mixed-use projects, and expanded value bands to provide more options for procuring projects. A significant new addition is the ability to procure standalone infrastructure projects, such as bridges, retaining walls, drainage and new roadways.

"The new framework has been divided into five Scottish regions, with a range of regional and national contractors appointed, giving local authorities the chance to use local contractors where appropriate. We have also made changes to the pricing schedule to give partners more cost certainty at the start of the procurement process."

Clark Contracts is already appointed to a number of public sector frameworks including Crown Commercial Services' Construction Framework, Scotland Excel's New Build Residential Framework, NHS National Services Scotland's Minor Works Framework, Registers of Scotland's Small to Medium Works Framework and Scottish Courts Service's Principal Contractor Framework as well as agreements with the University of Glasgow, University of Strathclyde, hub West Scotland, hub South West Scotland, The City of Edinburgh Council and LAR Housing Trust.
