McLaughlin & Harvey have sponsored the Heart of Aberdeenshire Caring Award at The Heart of Aberdeenshire Awards 2019, as part of their works at the Stonehaven Flood Protection Scheme.
Sheila Tolmie, McLaughlin & Harvey Community Liaison Officer, presented the award to winners, the Aberdeenshire Refugee Resettlement Team.
This winning team were selected for their work following the introduction of the Syrian Vulnerable Persons' Relocation Scheme. They currently support almost 200 people who have settled across Aberdeenshire. The ambition of the team is to make sure the refugees have the opportunity to make Aberdeenshire their home, and receive support with their care, their education and their children's development.
The awards aim to shine a light on the things people do in each of Aberdeenshire's communities every day, who might not receive recognition otherwise.
