A contract worth over £6.8 million has been awarded to Livingston contractor Maxi Construction for Edinburgh schools work.
The City of Edinburgh Council has appointed the contractor to deliver extension and refurbishment projects to primary schools in the region.
Projects include building a 4-classroom extension at Queensferry Primary School, and carrying out fabric repairs and mechanical and electrical upgrades.
Roof replacement and stonework/building fabric repairs will take place at St Mary's RC (Leith) Primary School.
Further fabric repairs and upgrades to mechanical and electrical systems will be implemented at Balgreen and Clermiston Primary Schools.
John Aitchison, Maxi Construction's Managing Director, said: "We're delighted to continue our association with The City of Edinburgh Council and to add to our experience of delivering construction works within live school environments. The award of these contracts has already resulted in two new employees joining the company and the provision of training and development activities for members of our supply chain."
