Construction Work Progresses On NHS Orkney Hospital

Construction work is progressing well on the new NHS hospital and healthcare facilities in Orkney.

Work has begun on the main entrance canopy and on the installation of the Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) pond.

Externally rendering, blockwork, roof and wall cladding are all close to completion.

The team has also reported significant progress internally with the installation of walls, the formation of rooms and the installation of doors and fixed furniture.

The new facility is due to open in 2019.
