Traditional repair works are to be carried out to four town centre properties in the Borders town of Jedburgh.

Up to £60,000 of grant funding has been awarded for the scheme as part of the £1 million Jedburgh Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS). The four successful projects are;

• 22 High Street

• Crown Lane House

• 1 Abbey Place

• 1 Market Place

Colin Gilmour, Jedburgh CARS project officer, said: "The CARS programme provides owners of traditional buildings within the town centre the opportunity to access grants to assist with appropriate repairs to their properties and hopefully these four initial projects will be the first of many in Jedburgh.

The five-year Jedburgh CARS programme, a partnership between Historic Environment Scotland and ourselves, will enable a targeted approach for conservation-based building repairs within the town centre as well as providing opportunities for a wide range of traditional skills training and community heritage education activities.
