Road resurfacing work is to begin on the M8 motorway in Glasgow.

Scotland TranServ will start resurfacing 0.6kms of the M8 Eastbound between Anderston Cross and Bath Street from Friday, 25 May.

The project will be carried out over a series of overnight closures;

• Friday 25 to Sunday 27 May, weekend overnight closures

between 8pm and 8am

• Monday 28 May to Friday 01 June, weekday overnight closures


between 8pm and 6am.

Evan Ferguson, Scotland TranServ's Planned Maintenance Manager, said: "We have experienced one of the harshest winters in years, with a prolonged series of freeze-thaw cycles, which have taken their toll on the trunk road network. Managing the balance between maintaining the busiest trunk road in Scotland and minimising disruption to thousands of drivers is challenging.

"We have been working closely with Transport Scotland, a number of authorities and key stakeholders to schedule these works to reduce the impact on businesses and local drivers. Working overnight, ahead of the peak summer season, will allow us to carry out these works as efficiently as we can."
