Residents in Fort William are being invited to submit their views on a study to identify transport improvements for the region.

AECOM are currently working alongside the Highland Council, HITRANS, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and Transport Scotland, to explore local and strategic transport issues in and around Fort William.

Residents, businesses, students and key stakeholders in the area are now being encouraged to use an online engagement tool to tell the team what they like about the area, what they don't like and what they would like to see improved.

Chairman of HITRANs, Cllr Allan Henderson said: "Using the latest online engagement tool, the local community have a great chance to shape the way this hugely important project for the Fort William area goes forward.

"We want to hear from as many transport users as possible. Engaging with users of the transport network is an important element of Transport Scotland's Scottish Transport Appraisal Guidance methodology under which this study is being taken."

Input from all stakeholders will be collated and used in moving forward with the study.

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, 14 March. The study is scheduled to be completed by early summer.
