Up to 50 new 'affordable' homes are to be built near Callander, Stirling.

The £5 million scheme will be delivered by Lovell, which has been chosen by Rural Stirling Housing Association as it's preferred development partner for the project.

Located to the east of the A81, south of Callander and within the boundary of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, features include building 50 new homes for social rent on land at Claish Farm.

In agreement with the National Park Planning Authority, a strategic working group comprising representatives from planning, SEPA, Scottish Water, SNH, the local roads department and Transport Scotland, has been put in place to progress the development.

Tony Teasdale, chief executive officer at Rural Stirling Housing Association, said: "We are very pleased to be working with Lovell on this exciting development. There is considerable demand for affordable housing in the area and I hope this is the beginning of a long and fruitful partnership."
