Council To Invest More Than £2m In Social Housing Solar Panels

More than £2 million is being invested to install solar panels across hundreds of homes in Stirling.

A further 500 social homes will receive new installations, taking the amount of local authority properties with solar panels up to more than 2,600.

The scheme will help each home meet new Energy Efficiency Standards which are to be introduced in 2020.

Cllr Evelyn Tweed said: "This is great news. The acceleration of our solar programme means that more Stirling Council tenants will feel the benefits of reduced electricity bills sooner than we had originally planned and is part of our work to tackle fuel poverty across the Stirling area."
