Work to upgrade a water treatment works on the Isle of Skye is now complete.

The facility at Teangue has been improved with the introduction of a new water treatment process which will benefit communities in the Sleat peninsula.

Scottish Water's Regional Water Operations Manager Neil Brennan said: "We have worked closely with the community in Sleat over recent years to address issues which had been affecting the water treatment process at Teangue; and to gain a better understanding of planned development in the local area.

"The introduction of chloramination is a significant milestone in this work.  Customers may notice a reduction in any taste or smell of chlorine in their tap water now that the new treatment process is in place, but otherwise there should be no change."
