The investment is being made by the council as the third phase of its Affordable Housing Programme.
Three information events discussing the proposed development sites are scheduled to take place between 4.30pm and 7.30pm in Glenrothes, Kinghorn and Thornton as follows:
• Lomond Centre, Glenrothes, 20 June. The proposed site is on Happer Crescent, Glenrothes.
• Kinghorn Community Centre on 21 June. The proposed site is on Bruce Street, Kinghorn.

• Thornton Primary School on 04 July. The proposed site is on Strathore Road, Thornton.
It is estimated that planning applications will be submitted in the next two months.
John Mills, Head of Housing Services, said: "I'm delighted to announce the dates for the first information events for Phase Three of the Affordable Housing programme.
"We have successfully delivered Phase Two and families across Fife are benefiting from living in the high quality homes.
"The Phase Three programme aims to build on this success by continuing to work with our stakeholders, identify sites and deliver more urgently needed social rented houses.
"Council officers will be at the venues to discuss the plans for the housing mix for the proposed sites and I encourage people to go along ask questions and find out more."
