Road Realignment Project To Begin Near Aberdeen

Work is to begin on a road realignment project near Aberdeen.

The Culter House Road at Milltimber is being redeveloped as part of the £745 million Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route/Balmedie-Tipperty (AWPR/B-T) project.

The route will shut between its junctions with Bucklerburn Road and the access road to East Lodge from 5.30am on Monday, 08 May until 10pm on Sunday, 21 May. This will allow construction works and utility diversions to take place. Local road diversions will be in place.

Once complete, motorists travelling east will follow a permanent new alignment, turning right onto a new section of road adjacent to Kippie Lodge before joining the A93 North Deeside Road at Milltimber Brae.

A spokesperson for Transport Scotland said: "We would like to remind road users that changes to the road layout in Milltimber will shortly be in place. As with any change to road layout, we strongly encourage road users to drive with more caution than usual. We would also kindly request drivers to observe all of the signage and speed limits that are in place to enhance the safety of road users and road workers."
