Scotland TranServ is to begin a £740,000 road maintenance project in Dumfries and Galloway.
Workers will start improving 1km of the A75 road surface from Glenterry to Barharrow from Friday, 14 October.
The project involves installing safety barriers, roadside drainage and renewing signage.
For safety reasons, a full road closure will be in place from 7pm – 6am from Friday until Monday, 17 October.
Andy Fraser, operating company representative, Scotland TranServ said: "This project is part of a £2m investment in this area over recent months and is a significant programme of work that will bring benefits to road users and local communities across Dumfries and Galloway.
"With more than 4,000 vehicles using this route each day it is essential that we carry out these resurfacing works to ensure the integrity of the carriageway for the travelling public for years to come."
