North Lanarkshire Council has welcomed the reopening of the Dalzell steelworks by Liberty Group.
The plate mill facility was closed in December last year by Tata amid the steel industry crisis.
The plant was then purchased by Liberty in April, who have since been rebuilding the workforce and recommissioning equipment at the site to prepare the mill for production.
Following the steelworks' reopening on Wednesday, 28 September, Motherwell Cllr Paul Kelly said: "This is an historic day for North Lanarkshire, with the re-opening of the Dalzell steelworks.
"We're very grateful to the partnership work of the council, Liberty Steel and the Scottish Government in making sure we kept the steel industry here in North Lanarkshire.
"Local people have campaigned long and hard to retain our steel making heritage and I'm delighted for them and the workers."
