Lovell has begun building a new council house development in West Lothian.
A mixture of 40 new cottage flats, bungalows and houses are being developed at Eastfield in Fauldhouse.
The scheme is part of a £100 million investment by the local authority to deliver 1,000 new homes and work is expected to be completed in 2017.
Cllr George Paul said: "We are delighted to announce that the work on the new council homes in Fauldhouse is now underway."
"Affordable housing is in high demand throughout Scotland and West Lothian is no different in that respect. I look forward to seeing the new homes completed and local residents moving in next year."
Deputy Council Leader Cathy Muldoon added: "Our 1,000 new council homes project is enormous and is fully focused on providing affordable homes for people in West Lothian and to meet the needs of our local communities."
"An important part of the project is the community benefits that this enormous construction project will bring with it, including training and employment opportunities for local people."
