Stirling Council has approved recommendations to carry out improvement works at Strathyre Primary School.

An allocation of £100,000 from the council's Capital Budget for future school investment has allowed work and plans to be enabled.

The £1 million project is to be completed in 2017/18.

Cllr Alistair Berrill said: "Stirling Council is continuing to invest in our children's education as one of our key priorities. I am delighted that we have been able to make this commitment to the improvements at Strathyre Primary School."

Ongoing improvement works include a new building which will accommodate both St Margaret's Primary School and Cowie Nursery from the start of the next academic year, along with the new build St Ninian's Primary School which is to be completed in Autumn 2016.
