Council To Discuss Retail Unit Developments In Dundee

Dundee City Council is due to discuss developing new retail units in the city at a committee meeting next week.

The units at Shore Street could be built at a costs of up to £1.3 million.

A total of four outlets could be created in the former council housing offices on the ground floor of the building facing the waterfront.

It is thought the units could be let as cafes of restaurants.

The councils construction division would carry out the works, which involve stripping out the existing fixtures and fittings and preparing four basic unit shells with ventilation and connections to services including gas and electricity.

Will Dawson convener of the council's city development committee said: "The redesigned City Square and facilities there are already proving really popular with people and the former offices in Shore Terrace offer us the perfect setting for higher quality permanent spaces suitable for cafés/restaurants."

The committee will meet on Monday, 28 March.
