Aberdeenshire residents are being invited to attend an open event revealing details on a primary school build project in the region.

Details of progress made on the new Kinellar Primary School scheme will be available at the exhibition today, 01 March.

Councillors approved plans to build the facility at the existing site on Fintray Road in Blackburn.


Local authority officers have been working alongside architects Halliday Fraser Munro to design the new development.

Options to redevelop adjacent playing fields into a temporary nursery are also being explored.

Cllr Alison Evison, said: "The last meeting was very constructive and gave everyone the opportunity to discuss building the new Kinellar Primary School.

"The engagement continues following the decision by the Policy and Resources Committee to build on the current site and the journey towards the new school will be shaped by the community through these events."

The drop-in event will take place between 4pm – 7pm at the current school in Blackburn.
