Funding Secured For New Sports Pavilion In Fife

Funding has been secured to develop a new sports pavilion in Fife, it has been announced.

Plans will now progress to develop the facility at Over Stenton Park in Glenrothes.

The council has awarded £300,000 as a one-off investment towards the Glenrothes Strollers Community Football Club's project.

Proposals include developing six changing rooms with showers, toilets, a referees' room and storage areas.

In addition, a club room will also be created.

Funding for the scheme has also been secured from the Robertson Trust, the Gannochy Trust, the Scottish Football Partnership, club fundraising, £250,000 from sportscotland, and £43,000 awarded from the Glenrothes area local community planning budget.

Cllr Mark Hood said: "We have a nationally recognised football development programme here in Fife and these improvements will complement the building of Fife's first indoor football training facility at the nearby Michael Woods Sports & Leisure Centre."
