McLaughlin & Harvey (MCL&H) has been appointed to deliver a new data facility for the University of Edinburgh.
The 100,000 sq ft Data Technology Institute (DTI) will be built next to an existing data facility in the centre of the city.
It will house a group of occupants from across the University, including its start-up and spin-out companies as well as industrial collaborators.
The open-plan six-storey office building will include an atrium, basement and rooftop plantroom.
Works involve connecting the new building to the existing one. External cladding with be removed, adjusted and reinstated with minor alterations to the previous centre.
The DTI will be the third and final phase of the University's Potterrow development, completing the urban block and courtyard of the original scheme.
Site establishment work will begin next month and the project is scheduled to be completed in late 2017.
