Dundee City Council is to discuss whether to invest £4 million into improving multi-storey properties across the city.

Various improvement schemes would be carried out across blocks at Whorterbank, Lansdowne, Kirk Street, St Mary's and Hilltown.

Works include replacing lift car installations, general and emergency lighting, CCTV installation and upgrading controlled entry systems.

Housing Convener Councillor John Alexander said: "We have already invested £16 million into our multis. This illustrates our clear commitment to improving these properties.

"Our tenants currently enjoy homes which meet the Scottish Housing Quality Standard, but we are in no way complacent about that and will continue to invest in the housing stock.

"Our commitment to tenants is clear and progress is ongoing through our ambitious plans to drive up standards. We want all of our properties to stand the test of time and to be enjoyed by families for decades to come."

Dundee City Council's housing committee will discuss the possible improvements on Monday, 07 December.
