hub North Scotland has been shortlisted at an awards ceremony for its £37 million community campus project in Aberdeenshire.

The developer has won praise for its Alford Community Campus project and has been named as a finalist in the Scottish Property Awards 2016.

The facility, located on the village's Greystone Road, replaced the existing Alford Primary School and Alford Academy.

Morrison Construction began work on the scheme in June last year.

Chief Executive Angus Macfarlane said: "I am delighted we have been selected as finalists, an achievement which recognises the efforts of everyone who has represented hub North Scotland in the Alford Community Campus project.

"We are proud of what has been created and of the impact it will have on the community. The campus is far more than simply a school, with facilities including a theatre, sports hall and dance studio as well as all-weather and grass playing fields, swimming pool, community library and accommodation for Aberdeenshire Council's community learning and development team."

The awards ceremony will take place in Glasgow in March.
