A £100,000 programme of improvement works is due to begin in East Ayrshire this weekend, Scotland TranServ has announced.
The north and southbound lanes of A76 Bargower Rail Bridge are to undergo a series of upgrades.
Scotland TranServ, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out the refurbishment of the bridge deck including waterproofing, joint replacement and concrete repairs in five stages over the coming weeks.
Gordon Wilson, contract director, said: "It is essential that we carry out this scheme to improve this section of the A76 benefiting local residents and motorists for years to come."
A series of convoy working and lane closures will be in operation during the works.
