Infinis Drops Wind Farm Site Plans

Renewable company Infinis has dropped plans for a seven turbine wind farm site in Scotland.

Over 100 objection letters were tabled against the company's Wind Holdings' Cummins Hill scheme.

The site was to be located close to the Carter Bar crossing point between Scotland and England.

However, organisations from both countries were opposed to the scheme, including Scottish Natural Heritage and Northumberland National Park.

An action group to fight the application was also formed in Chesters.

In addition, rejected proposals for a nine turbine farm at Windy Edge have gone to the Scottish Government for appeal.

The application, which attracted 300 objections, was refused by Scottish Borders Council in June.
