Developer J. Smart & Co (Contractors) has started the first phase of an industrial unit development in Lanarkshire.

The 20,000 sq ft manufacturing/warehouse facility is being developed at Belgrave Point, Bellshill.

The first phase of the project is due for completion in May 2016.

It is being marketed for lease by Colliers International and JLL.

In addition to phase one, Belgrave Point also offers additional land to accommodate bespoke 'build to suit' requirements of up to 80,000 sq ft.

David Smart, development director of J. Smart & Co., said: "The industrial market in the West of Scotland continues to perform strongly and so, on the back of our recent lettings elsewhere in Glasgow, we have decided to commence this first phase of Belgrave Point speculatively.

Ian Davidson, director of Industrial & Logistics at Colliers International, said: "Built to shell specification, the building will provide occupiers with the unique ability to tailor offices and staff welfare facilities to their ideal size and specification."
