Robertson Construction has been appointed to deliver the new Timmergreens and Warddykes primary schools in Arbroath.

Following the collapse of original contractors Muirfield Contracts, the council's procurement partner Hubco has formally appointed Robertson.

The £12.6 million first phase of the Arbroath Schools Project include the replacement of the two primary schools, the provision of temporary accommodation and improvements to Muirfield Primary School.

Councillor Sheena Welsh said: "It is great news that we’ve now got a contractor in place for this first phase of our major investment programme to upgrade Arbroath’s primary schools.

"We now expect the project to be completed around a month later than expected. The proposed completion date for Timmergreens Primary School is now May 2016 with Warddykes Primary due for completion the following month."
