Turf Laying Commences On Raised Landform

Work is underway on laying turf for a raised landform in Moray.

10,000 tonnes of surplus soil from the town's flood alleviation scheme has been brought in by lorry to Elgin's Cooper Park over the past two weeks.

It has been shaped by machinery into a two metre high viewing area.

It will provide a vantage point for spectators during events taking place in the park and for the nearby cricket pitch.

The site, close to Elgin Library and Grant Lodge, is being laid with several hundred metres of turf and will be ready for use in the summer when the grass is established.
