Hillcrest Housing Association (HA) has been given the green light for the development of 21 flats at a derelict site in Dundee.
The HA acquired the land in March 2015.
Developer Cullross is due to start building on the site this summer, with work scheduled to be completed in 2016.
David Zwirlein, Director of Development and New Business at Hillcrest said: "The approval of our plans to develop on this brownfield land, in addition to the other affordable housing developments we are bringing to the area, marks an exciting period of transformation for Dundee’s Hilltown."
Emma Garry, Development Director at Cullross Limited, said: "Cullross is delighted to be working again with Hillcrest to deliver new affordable housing.
"The fact that the site has been vacant and derelict for such a long time makes the project all the more important.
"This is an exciting time for the Hilltown area and we are pleased to be playing a small role its regeneration."
Plans for the Dens Road development contain a mix of flats for social rent and properties for mid market rent.
Councillor John Alexander said: "This is another fantastic development which will deliver high quality housing in a popular area of Dundee."
