George Leslie Ltd has been awarded a £1.7 million contract by Argyll and Bute Council to save Dunoon's pier and refurbish its buildings.
The project will repair 27 of the piers timber piles, with a further 46 to be replaced.
Over £500,000 will be spent on the former waiting room and harbourmaster's office. The office will also be redecorated with new signage and gates being installed at the public access point to the pier.
Works are set to being in May, with the building renovation to begin by the end of summer and the structural repairs by autumn.
