A Highlands-based sub-sea oil and gas engineering company has gone into administration, it has been announced.
The firm, MacKellar Sub-Sea Ltd., employs 97 full-time and part-time staff.
It is understood administrators feel the business remains "viable", and will continue to trade. They added that financial pressures on the firm had been caused by losses on different contracts.
Tom MacLennan, joint administrator, of FRP Advisory, is quoted by the BBC as saying: "We believe there is a viable business underlying these recent contract-related losses and we will continue to trade the company whilst actively seeking a buyer."
MacKellar Sub-Sea Ltd, which is based in Grantown-on-Spey, specialises in a number of engineering and fabrication projects for the oil and gas industry.
